Our Vision

UNFOLD e.V. is a youth-led, non-profit organization based in Germany working at the intersection of youth empowerment, mental health, embodiment and peace education.

We create safe, inclusive and experiential learning spaces where young people and youth workers can reconnect: With themselves, with others, and with the wider social and natural surrounding they are part of.

We work with the understanding that many young people today grow up in environments shaped by pressure to compete, acceleration and emotional disconnection.

Our vision is to contribute to a more peaceful and compassionate Europe (and beyond) by integrating personal development with civic engagement, intercultural dialogue and social responsibility.

Our Team

UNFOLD is carried by a small collective of educators, facilitators and practitioners with long-term experience in youth work, non-formal education and embodied learning. Our work is shaped by practice as much as by professional background in education and pedagogy, psychology, movement, environmental science and community work. What connects us is the shared intention: To create spaces where people can slow down, listen inwardly, and relate to each other in more honest and human ways.

Our Methodology

Embodied, relational and experiential learning through movement, mindfulness and dialogue.

Our methodology is rooted in the understanding that learning is not only cognitive, but deeply embodied, relational and experiential. We work through non-formal education methods that integrate movement, mindfulness, creative expression, dialogue and nature-based practices.

In practice, this includes somatic awareness methods, breath and movement work, guided reflection exercises, exploration of theatre-based methods and self-expression, group dialogue and connection to the natural surrounding.

We place strong emphasis on emotional awareness, communication and relational safety - including practices of consent, boundary awareness and nonviolent communication.

Rather than focusing on performance, self-improvement or outcomes, we support that young people can develop awareness of themselves and the process, authenticity from within and in response, new ways to build resilience for themselves.

Our approach is trauma-sensitive and inclusive. It is designed to support both individual wellbeing and collective learning processes.

We see education not only as the transmission of knowledge, but as the creation of conditions in which people can come into deeper contact with themselves and their surrounding.
